One of the most interesting things you can do is offer free things to people, like I did last post with the free book. I deliberatly didn’t give you the hard sell on why you should download it or any of that stuff.

What I did do was tell you that it would help you in your writing and marketing and yes you, the writer, will need to learn to market even if you have found a publisher in the 3D world.  There is a reason they are called best sellers not best literature or best written.

The percentage of people who downloaded the book is an extremely gratifying 20%.  Give yourselves a big pat on the back because that is a seriously good response.

Thank you to those who did download the book, you know who you are, would you like to give me some feedback on what you think of the content?  Will you be able to take it on board and gain some benefit from the book?

The other interesting take away from this whole campaign, not mine, is the background concept of giving away a book for charity but without any obligation to actually donate.  By the way, they have raised over $50,000 for charity in less than a month.

Imagine that!  Giving a benefit to those who download the book and, for those who feel inclined, they can pass on the gift to charity.  It really is a brilliant concept and has been well accepted across the internet.

Incidentally, the whole marketing campaign has used the concepts contained within the book he is giving away.  You can tell that they work by the results he is getting now.  Don’t you think that you may benefit from getting your own copy?
